Stellenbosch University is upgrading its Chemical Engineering Facility as part of a broader modernisation of the Engineering Faculty. The project involves demolishing outdated structures, constructing a new facility and refurbishing existing buildings to create a consolidated academic and laboratory precinct.
The new facility accommodates a mix of teaching, research and technical spaces that require specialised utility systems, including laboratory gases, steam, process water and advanced ventilation. Power Partners is providing integrated engineering services to support these complex laboratory functions, ensuring safe, reliable and compliant operation.
Power Partners provided comprehensive electrical, electronic, mechanical and fire services that included:
- Electrical reticulation, small power distribution and specialised laboratory electrical supplies
- Electronic systems including access control, CCTV and fire detection
- Mechanical ventilation and air‑conditioning designed for laboratory, workshop and teaching environments
- Process-related services including water, steam and laboratory gas reticulation
- Fire protection systems tailored for high‑risk laboratory and technical spaces
